PL94-142 passed shortly after my brother finally got to go to school. I wonder how many hundreds of kids in that bass-ackwards district got at least a chance at something like formal education in the decades since.

My mother fought like a tiger to get my brother enrolled in school in 1973. Hearing what's happening to SPED now makes furious. I can't imagine the sorrow and rage of someone who devoted a life to kids like my brother. Wish I could shake 'em by the collar for you. All I have to offer is "Thank you."

That depends on how you define "last." If you're doing an athletic event like a race or tennis or such, then there's a definitive, numerical "last." Defining your boundaries isn't "last," anyone who doesn't get that doesn't get or care about you, and that old trope about "nice guys" can go hang.
