If I had billions of dollars, I'd make sure my friends and family were happy & safe. I'd make sure my community was funded--school, library, fire department, shelters, foster kids... I'd clear out animal shelters, pay mortgages, student loans, & medical debts. And feed people.

I believe the civil institution of marriage should not be defined by anyone's religion. Some countries make couples have a civil ceremony to get legally married and then they can have a religious or spiritual ceremony if they want one. We should have done that here.

It's heartbreaking that this very basic right--to get legally married-- may be stripped from them in the near future.

My heart hurts and I am giving a lot of thought about how to serve these couples and families in the future.

I'm also feeling a lot of anxiety and worry--for my couple and all the LGBTQ couples I married before them.

First, it's only the second wedding I've done since I got sick (cancer 2022). I feel out of practice and I'm struggling to remember the systems I had in place to manage things-- and wondering if they need to be rethought in this post-cancer timeline.

I'm getting ready to do a rush wedding next week and I'm having some big feelings.

I would say it applies to the condition of being female. I once went to a doctor for a sore throat and received a lecture about how I was running out of time to have kids... It was my first (and last) time seeing that doctor.
