The Labor Movement Is in a Fight for Its Existence Against a Neofascist Threat For unions to survive, they must embrace antifascism.

This Bill Fletcher essay on how the labor movement can save itself is 100% spot on. It needs to be the antifascist leader. But it's hard because union leaders themselves have stopped educating their membership on politics.

Unhappy anniversary: National Labor Relations Act at 90 - NW Labor Press This July marks the 90th anniversary of the National Labor Relations Act. It’s a timely opportunity to reflect on the law's mixed legacy.

Veteran labor organizer/scholar Bob Bussel explains why we need to put efforts at labor law reform aside to focus on what unions themselves can do to revive the labor movement.

Worth sharing for the reference list alone (a lot of bangers on that list!). But this is a real question and the examination here by @lanewindham.bsky.social is a great read.

Personally I believe organizing around working people's solidarity and life improvement is always a better option.

Requiem for the Wagner Act Signed into law 90 years ago, labor’s onetime β€˜magna carta’ is now a very dead letter.

90 years after the Wagner Act, labor unions must return to their roots of civil disobedience and join forces with other progressive forces to protect workers, get real legislation passed and rebuild from the rubble
