I mean better than me. I haven’t even planted anything yet😅

I’m typically team sow indoors way too early 😂

Well this “second” time looks great!

Like first attempt ever?!?! Or first attempt using that technique?

I want to paint some minis so bad. I’ve never painted them before, but have watched quite a few YouTube videos😂

All this!

Thanks! It’s definitely an uphill battle just to begin with, but also even worse timing with tariffs etc. that are going to decimate our industry and consumer spending…

Been learning a lot about the TCG industry (Pokemon in particular) as I am launching another company soon (an online retail store that will hopefully turn into a physical one in the next few years), but oh boy is Pokemon brutal right now…

05.04.2025 05:41 — 👍 5    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Or less scummy, but still not awesome. Not allocating their whole inventory, then waiting a couple weeks for the market price to skyrocket, and then soliciting retailers for if they want more product below market prices but still way above MSRP

05.04.2025 05:39 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 2    📌 0

And then not only that, at least one distributor of Pokemon has been found to be distributing to themselves and selling online for market price instead of selling to retailers at normal distribution prices…

05.04.2025 05:38 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Nah I wish is was as you described… that would be a huge improvement

It’s put AirTags on delivery drivers trucks, follow them to the store to be first in line for a Pokemon center restock, buy everything in the vending machine and then instantly list it online for 3x the price…

So basically reeling back into super indie territory of just wanting to make stuff, but will never make enough money at it to actually build a business that can sustain amazing people such as your self working for it…

Now I’m going into things basically planning for a 100% tariff by the time our next game is ready to deliver.

Some of that means beyond this game focusing on card games that can be somewhat competitively priced with small print runs in the US using services like the Game Crafter

05.04.2025 03:44 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

I’m glad that our Kickstarter got delayed partially due to me having a baby. We would be set to deliver right about now if we were able to stick to the original schedule, and probably bankrupt the company

At the end of May I'll no longer work for Underdog Games.

The owner is shrinking the company to almost nothing to give it the best chance of keeping the lights on during the tariff tsunami.

It won't need new games (I manage our design studio, and design myself), so I'm done.

I gifted these 2 neighbor kids a box of the newest Japanese Pokemon set Heat Wave Arena, and watching them sprint into the house to grab their binders and tear through the box right there on their driveway not caring about the value of the cards and just being excited for shiny cardboard was 10/10

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had mushroom gravy… I feel like I need to change that. Normally we actually do turkey gravy😂

04.04.2025 06:24 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Ooo, that would also be a great option!

This is the first objectively wrong take I think I’ve ever seen you post😂

Poutine, especially homemade where I can control the fries being fresh and crispy with the cheese curds slightly melty, slathered in gravy. Clog my arteries with that all day🤤

Yeah that’s the thing. For chipboard products we CAN do it. It just doesn’t often make sense depending on the situation

Our first game is just a trick taking game with a handful of standees and a book sized box. We sell it for $20, when we looked into making it here it would cost over $20 to make..

Yeah it at the very least has me debating just doing small card only games in a tuckbox. One of the only things you can get made in the USA for an almost competitive price at small scale (less than 5k units)

Just played that last week for the first time, I thought I was crashing it with my clue of Grapes, then upon seeing division about well what color of grapes I followed it up with Nidoking, to find out half the group didn’t know that Pokemon😂

I co-own a small board game publishing company. Like, very small. We are two people who just run Kickstarter campaigns on the side of our day jobs. Our last game did well though, and we've got a couple thousand copies on a boat coming from China right now.

So, I'm a little worried about that.

Yeah I wish I remembered which it was, but I’ve always heard good things about them so when I saw a trial available I tried it

The pacing was too slow for me. I feel like I played for 2hrs and still felt like I was in a tutorial

The pacing for Metaphor while still a little slow is decently paced

I do have to admit that I have only ever played a demo of a single persona game😅

Maybe 4 or 5?

So I’m a bit late to playing it. But Metaphor ReFantazio is fantastic (I’m about 5hrs in so far, heard it doesn’t even get good until after 6 hours😂)

Anyone else enjoying this one?
