Like I'm assuming I must've been doing something wrong. Surely I don't have to change my entire workflow just to integrate one UI library

Yesterday I spent like an hour trying to get HeroUI and then ChakraUI to work to try out their input components before I gave up and just made a custom component myself.

Absolutely loved season 2 of the fallout show. Felt like it managed to bring up so many aspects of New Vegas that people loved while contributing to the lore instead of just relying on it.

It's so weird to me that star trek-based ttrpg campaigns never appealed to me. Like I enjoy other sci fi campaigns, but star trek never felt fun to me. Maybe it's because my love is trek is in the broader politics and organisations, rather than the little guys.

Every time I DM a campaign I always get so impatient. The idea of meticulously planning out encounters is so alien to me. I just desperately want to share my story with my friends, waiting is torture lmao

I think it comes down to the class you pick, melee and (to an extent) ranged classes tend to have really simplistic combat options so you know what you're doing each round because it's the same thing as the last five rounds.

I always lean on those classes though since I hate tracking spells lmao

Definitely! I have noticed with pf2e that I can fall into the same pitfalls as dnd though too. I played a sniper gunslinger recently and as fun as it was, my turns pretty much entirely consisted of shooting reloading and then hiding waiting for my next turn lmao.

Gotta find variety in both systems.

Definitely, I'm not sure about the earlier editions but with 5E DND, it's always felt like an uphill struggle to get into the combat

I think an important feature is system independence. It sucks when you find an app that does work well but it is only compatible with pathfinder or dnd, when you want to play coc or warhammer.

I've thought about making my own character sheet/GM prep site/app for a while now, and since I've began delving properly into React I want to began making it a reality soon.

If there was one feature you'd wanna see in one of these apps, what would it be?

I think it's the paper. There's something about tracking all those spells on paper that my brain struggles with. I've tried a few digital character sheet apps before but none of them worked super well for me. Either too restrictive or unresponsive to scratch that itch.

Even playing Skyrim or Elden Ring, strength or dex builds were my go-to's. It was only the last two or so years I began leaning into spellcasters in video games but I still couldn't get past the hurdle in TTRPGs.

I never really gelled with spellcasters in DnD or Pathfinder. I've been playing for nearly 10 years now and I've always gravitated towards barbarian or gunslinger.

The more I think about it, does anyone actually like the action system in DnD? I mean I don't hate it, but I don't think I'd prefer it over any other action system I've used in TTRPGs.

I'm glad when I started web development years ago I was building brick and mortar HTML pages, learning HTML and CSS and all, but moving to React has been an eye opener.
