05.02.2026 00:06 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0New slogan to throw at Brands just dropped.
04.02.2026 16:42 โ ๐ 2186 ๐ 771 ๐ฌ 18 ๐ 44I feel like TTRPG spellcaster familiars would be greatly improved by providing them full-sized firearms that they are still able to operate.
I don't know if the improvement would be good for everyone around them, mind you, but I think it would be good for them.
A picture of four girls, three labeled "random Internet users trying to be comedic", and one with a red dodgeball about to throw it at them, labeled "Apollo". The dodgeball is labeled "the gift of prophesy".
04.02.2026 18:37 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0they don't have enough guys, and if the response in Minnesota shows anything it is that trying something like this is going to drive a much larger backlash than anything they hope to gain out of it
"oh well I guess we'll just stay home" is not how this is going to go
there's a lot of people who mock liberals with "what are you going to do, vote harder" and yes actually that is exactly what will happen if you try to intimidate people outside voting places like this! that's how you drive presidential-level turnout from normie libs in a midterm

04.02.2026 17:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Had this brought to my attention yesterday, and I wasnโt in a great headspace to properly channel the word out. Itโs usually not in my nature to put anyone on blast, but let me be clear:
This is AI generated. The thumbnails, the music, the vocalsโItโs all fake. Donโt support this garbage.
Deadass? That's why I take fall damage as my go to example, and why I handle it so seriously.
I used to do bouldering and rock climbing, and fifty feet was the rough estimate for a survivable fall.
Below fifty? You'll get hurt bad, but probably live.
Fifty and above? You'll probably die.
Remarkable: Trump's planned migrant prison camps are hitting deep resistance in red areas. In Virginia's partly rural Hanover (+26 Trump) opposition is intense. GOP leaders in other states are opposed.
Voters are rejecting mass deportations big time. 1/

Question for the GMs, writers, and worldbuilders out there;
Where do you fall in regards to fantasy vs realism with your setting or games?
If for example, someone falls a hundred feet, are they basically guaranteed to die? Or do they follow action hero logic and survive via the narrative?

Every polaroid shows someone with the net value of a small country.
04.02.2026 16:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Me watching @cascoinfoundation.org foundation dig out receipt after receipt from the files that might as well say "I am complicit in sex crimes" with an autographed polaroid selfie of the perpetrator
04.02.2026 16:46 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ooh, I can say it's a damn good game to sit down and play, I think you'll enjoy it.
04.02.2026 15:06 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Also a very important thing to bear in mind. Smart villains hide themselves. Let someone else be the face, let someone else catch the flak.
04.02.2026 15:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0TTRPG worldbuilding tip;
If you have a rich, privileged, and power hungry villain, odds are they aren't smart! They're lucky.
That's it.
If you don't want proof of this, look at history, both recent and not.
At this point I'm of the opinion that these files are basically going to radicalize people even further against the ultra-wealthy.
Because. I mean.
We've had the chance to now see how idiotic, dangerous, and hostile the ultra wealthy are. Oh and we've seen evidence of them raping children.
Finally some quality content to start posting on Bsky
03.02.2026 16:38 โ ๐ 4133 ๐ 1510 ๐ฌ 19 ๐ 11Fair, now out of curiosity, what about situations where the falling rules present areeee...kind of bad? Would you at that point try to whip something up that works a bit better?
04.02.2026 13:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Ah, thank god for haystacks
04.02.2026 13:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There is a point where sticking to realism too much becomes a serious issue yeah.
04.02.2026 13:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It depends on the game and the setting, but I like to err towards action movie logic because it's generally more fun and keeps a session flowing.
Also, some of the worst folk I've met are absolute simulationist roleplayers who've sucked every iota of fun and oxygen out of a room, time and again.
Basically for me, realism *does* have a place...
...for normal people.
Beyond say like. Level Five in a DnD, Pathfinder, or ToV style game? Yeah, that is no longer a "normal person", save for when they are dead asleep and stark naked.
Likewise, if someone is completely unarmed, unprepared, and incapacitated and somebody (a PC, *NOT AN NPC*) gets a drop on them, knife to their throat?
Well, then that's all folks. It just won't matter how strong they are, they are what I refer to as "Dead to Rights"...unless magic is involved.
I fall in between the two, in what gets called "magic realism", for the most part.
If you fall a hundred feet as a normal person, you're probably dead.
If you have some kind of magic object, or supernatural power that prevents you from being injured? Well, that's a different story.

Ayo?
04.02.2026 04:09 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Do you play D&D but aren't happy with WotC/Hasbro?
It turns out you can still enjoy the game with books you have...and you can get new books for it from 3rd party publishers (like me).
My own book is a 3x sized supplement that isn't 3x the price of a WotC book.

Here at Dicefunctional, we are a classy bunch.
Also I wasn't joking in that Twitch clip, every TTRPG campaign I've fun for this bunch, there have been jokes about at least one character getting pegged.
Maybe it's because we're queer. Maybe it's because we're overgrown children. Who knows.
