As someone in what is often called by federal public servants as "the regions", I really hope the government listens to MP Fanjoy and reconsiders their RTO mandate, especially when it actually means "return to Ottawa". We need more faces from the federal government in communities across Canada.

The developer quoted in this article is absurd. As if you'd ever be allowed to "pop-in" unannounced to City offices if everyone was in office everyday. For security reasons, the only place you can do that is the service centre, and that's already open all business days.

This is really annoyingly vague reporting. What functions are being cut/discontinued? What specific services will we see less of as a result of these cuts? Not addressed at all in the article. Labour reporting should be more than a collection of employer and union quotes.
