Bonsall Circular | Derbyshire Bird Tour Starting from the Bonsall community car park we would walk a circular route through farmland, moorland and open grassland, this walk is home to a great variety of wildlife. Around 7 km in length this walk is a wonderful way to enjoy the area and escape the day to day madness. The car park asks for a voluntary donation of just £2, so help with the maintenance, it's great value. Sections of the walk are a little uneven and steep so you must be steady on your feet and have good walking boots or shoes. A minimum of 3 people is required to make to walk viable so a refund would be offered if that number of guests isn't reached.

Great afternoon to Inner Farne - Arctic Terns not as vicious as last year - managed not to get pecked this time!

It flew around me quite a few times checking me out - felt like I could almost touch it!

I think I might have said wow a few times!

Popped into North Cave yesterday afternoon on the way back from seeing a brief view of the Ortolan Bunting. No sign of the Little Owlets but good views of one of the adults.

That's great - lucky you! Fingers crossed they have lots of success 🤞

The glorious weather has allowed us to carry out our first colony walkthrough of the season. An astonishing 91 Little Tern nests were counted, which is the highest count for the protection scheme (previous highest count of 70 in 1996). We're keeping everything crossed for a record-breaking season!

Love watching the Little Terns at Beacon Ponds especially when they bring fishy presents. Good to compare their size against a Common Tern. Two Sandwich Terns also seen @davidjcopeland.bsky.social @spurnterns.bsky.social
