It's fair to say the end of 2024 was a terrifying disappointment, but a high point for me was "discovering" Bob Vylan. Their album 'Humble As The Sun" is absolutely breathtaking, leaping across diverse genres while retaining an intelligence, humour, and righteous anger that is awe inspiring.

Pulling that Shelter from the Storm makes you the real winner of the event.

The set looks great, and prereleases tend to be a really laid back and friendly experience - everyone is learning the new cards together! Hope you decide to go and that you have an awesome time.

Busy #starwarsunlimited weekend for me. Store Showdown at my FLGS in West Lebanon NH on Sat, and my first ever Planetary Qualifier in Manchester NH on Sun. So of course I'm building a completely untested deck tonight. Heart of the cards, right?

Turning up for work wearing a Linkin Park hoodie, a Here's Me Face Ozzy Man beanie, and a Patriot Games t-shirt under my formal work shirt will never not make me feel like a superhero.

There's something about attending a gaming event after a work shift (even a truncated one like Saturdays at the bank) that really ramps up the anticipation. Can't wait to hit Black Moon Games after work to get my #starwarsunlimited draft on!

It's being run by Living Realms, right? They tend to be ahead of the curve for most customer service things. Hopefully SCG follow suit over here.

#fabtcg draft Armory event in Lebanon NH tonight. Wishing the Chicago Calling had been earlier in the year before I'd burnt all my PTO, because the History of Draft package is pretty much my dream thang. Well, that and Glen Powell, anyway.

Watched episode four of Pop Culture Jeopardy while eating breakfast this morning. It displayed a "sex content" warning beforehand, which I can only assume was because of the "Big Charles Dickens Energy" category. What a time to be alive.

Vegas room booked for the #starwarsunlimited Galactic Championships in July. It's going to be a long eight months waiting now.

Ended up with 480 individual items. The store also donated all the entrance fees, rounding it up to $500 then matching it dollar for dollar, so the Listen Center will be getting a check for $1000 to go with the food items.

My FLGS, Black Moon Games in Lebanon NH, is combining its Skirmish Season 10 event with their annual charity event to benefit a local food shelf. Despite there only being 11 players, they've collected hundreds of items, and will also be making a cash donation. #fabtcg

All tournaments will be single elimination.

Proxy when you test, borrow when you compete. You know you don't have to personally own every card to play a Hero, right?

I'll admit it...I'm basic. Sanguivore dominated my early 2024 listening and is still in regular rotation. Rise Against is almost exclusively due to Endgame being a fixture in my listening habits since it came out.

Interesting to me, the top four are mostly due to me listening to complete albums.

About this time last year, I stumbled upon Creeper's "Sanguivore", an album that immediately entranced and seduced me. It couldn't be more up my street if it bought the house next door and moved in.

Lightning has struck twice. Bob Vylan's "Humble as the Sun" is incredible and on constant play.

This means you start the main draft knowing which leaders you want to build around. You don't have to choose which leader you're using until you've finished the draft.

SWU draft is a lot of fun, and was clearly baked into the game at a design level. I think they've done a fantastic job with it.
