5 years after COVID began, outstanding fines mean marginalised Australians are still paying the highest price
In our new study, people told us theyβd been fined for leaving home to access drug treatment programs β and still couldnβt afford to pay, years later.
Pleased to share our article about the adverse impacts of #COVID policing on the lives of people who use drugs, published in the Conversation today. We call on
governments to do the right thing and waive all outstanding COVID fines, to lift the financial and emotional burden on vulnerable groups.
