With the offseason giving him a chance to slow down a bit, it was good to catch up with Dan Wilson in a longer conversation and hear a little bit more about his vision for the team.

Yes, but that shouldn't be a surprise. I don't think there are any untouchables in the minors. I think he took the opportunity to play them up as guys who could contribute at the big league level.

There is nobody who is untouchable in their eyes. Personally, there are three players I would really rather not see them trade. With the health of their farms system that tells me they need to trade at least one of those players if good MLB level players are available.

Dipoto also noted they have been "very aggressive" in talking with other teams about trades that include the upper end of the M's prospect system. Listed Locklear and Cole Young as "ready to go," and said 3B Ben Williamson would likely start at AAA.
