Glokta es el ejemplo perfecto: alguien torturado por dentro y por fuera. #Abercrombie no lo redime, lo expone. Su voz interna es un himno de ironía, crítica institucional y autodesprecio genial. Le duele cada puto pensamiento. Y eso tiene un peso específico en el lector.

Lo ético en #Abercrombie es movedizo. Sus personajes no se mueven entre el bien y el mal, sino entre el interés, la culpa y el deseo. Insoportablemente humano. El conflicto no es épico: es orgánico, íntimo. Cada decisión duele. Es verosímil. La identidad pura del grimdark

Sometimes, the creative process takes you into a long labyrinth that ends in the start point. What’s the difference? Was it a waste of time? No. In my opinion, that’s what makes you not just choosing the original idea but immersing yourself into it.

I never did two covers for the same book before Joe Abercrombie’s LAOK and my first thought was doing a totally different thing (fear of repeating myself) After 4 or 5 tries that didn’t convinced me, I decided not doing something similar, but even in the same place.
This is how:

I was taking a walk, thinking about many things and nothing and, suddenly, I’ve had a revelation about how to picture Oldstones. Is that normal?
