Why do you keep calling them cadets? These are active duty naval personnel, officer & enlisted. The only cadets in the Navy are at the Naval Academy.

He's at Norfolk Naval Base, not the academy. The op has incorrectly referred to the crowd as 'cadets' in other posts, these folks are active duty sailors.

There's another important bit of context for this excellent assessment: Hegseth is the result of 20 years of war on the US military. By his own admission in his own book, he told his troops to ignore the rules of engagement (ROE). You only get Soldiers like this when you need bodies. 1/
