You know, I have an entire series idea based on this. Isekai Delivery Service. They don’t deliver items, they deliver people into other dimensions. Basically, anytime someone is destined to become a hero in another world, they have to hunt them down and then run them over with one of their trucks.

Remake of Twins, anyone?

I am intrigued by their sales pitch, and I would like to know more.

Same here! I was particularly impressed by the set with the downed plane outside the cave. Whoever did their location scouting, prop design, etc. really deserves some praise. If they can make what is obviously a lower budget production look this good, I can’t wait to see their next project.

Surprisingly good production values as well. And, of course, a practical monster suit is always appreciated.

Understandable. Really, those first three episodes and the first couple of side series create an incredibly powerful thesis statement.

In the book, the character is good for what he is, but this performance haz really elevated the role.

And it’s almost hilarious how, at one point, he just sits down, shrugs and says ‘well SOMEBODY’S gotta pay.’ it is the absolute picture of a man who just cannot understand why nobody wants to give him his damned money.

I love that he’s mad… But he legit just wants somebody to give him the damn money so he can quit dealing with this shit.
Like, if they paid out his portion, he would just be on his way.

Really, it’s that way with any art.
If you want a specific example, though, look no further than George Lucas.
He openly stated that no film was ever finished, only abandoned. Take a look at all the different editions of Star Wars.

Agreed. The remainder seem to be more about the cyclical nature of things, and how a few becoming enlightened doesn’t stop the misinterpretation of the message after that.
For my money, smaller side stories like 0080 are best at exploring other aspects.

For a small fee, I will agree to stay in your living room, yell at you in the middle of the night, and poop in your house if I’m not allowed to step outside.

Really, that’s the cool thing about the alien universe that I feel hasn’t been exploited enough. I feel like there’s a lot of awesome stories to tell about Corporate chicanery that don’t require a drooling monster.

What’s cool is that, in the recent expanded universe materials for Alien, they actually incorporated this, albeit unofficially.

F91 is one of the ways I introduce people to Gundam since it’s basically got EVERY TROPE condensed into a single feature-length package.
It’s a little rushed and messy, but still a strong entry.

Definitely has one of the best arcs without ever losing his original character.
It really feels like the way people mature as they encounter life-changing events.

It’s basically a Tales from the Crypt episode that forgot the Cryptkeeper.
Stylish morality play with a structure straight out of EC.

I love stuff like that, where it starts off as a goofy, fun exercise with, perhaps, a dash of fetishism… but then it evolves into a do-or-die exploration of what really matters in the lives of the characters.
Weirdly, the most recent example for me was watching ZZ Gundam for the first time.

I think that’s largely because Godzilla has begun serving as a metaphor for all the various evils of the modern world.
When he first came on the scene, it was nuclear proliferation. Now, it’s expanded to governmental incompetence, natural disasters, warfare in general…

Definitely a demonstration that Lynch knows how to use metaphor and subtext like no other director.
