Like everyone else, I’m in awe of Faizan Zaki’s big win at the National Spelling Bee—especially after coming so close last year (huge congrats, Faizan!).

I couldn’t help getting distracted by the trophy. It was designed by Rookwood Pottery in Cincinnati back in 2019. What a great looking trophy!

I almost never order food delivery but tonight I ordered some chicken wings. Sorry Uber Eats I only tip based on my order total - not including the taxes and fees - that's effing insulting.

I’ve used Workflowy for over a decade. It allows for nested lists and I can click on an item and view just that item with whatever is nested under it which helps me stay focused and not feel overwhelmed with such a long list. It works so well for my brain

It's Valentine's Day, so you know what that means: BEES.

Alongside being the patron saint of love, plague, epilepsy, and fainting, Saint Valentine is also associated with beekeepers. As such, we thought we'd share a few of our favourite hives today.

St Valentine's keys are traditionally given to unlock the giver's heart. Valentine was a Roman priest who was caught marrying couples & refused to give up his Christian faith. Executed on 14 February 269 AD, it was not until the 14th century that his feast day became a celebration of romantic love.

That is lovely. Beautiful handspun yarn. I just looked up loop fiber studio and I love their bullseye bumps. Trying not to order one right this moment. I promised myself that I would use more yarn in 2025 rather than just making more yarn. 😅

My Imbolc altar features a central statue of Brigid, surrounded by fiber and ceramic sheep to symbolize her connections to fertility, livestock, and pastoral life. Decorative trees evoke the renewal of nature, while a bird sculpture and a small bowl holding a bird’s nest with two eggs and a red feather represent themes of rebirth, creativity, and nurturing.

Imbolc, an ancient Gaelic-Celtic feast which marks the midpoint between winter and summer., reminds us that spring is on the horizon. The long darkness of winter is fading as the light continues to return.

Ah loves, just noticed this weekend is #Imbolc marking the beginning of spring. Imbolc symbolizes the halfway point between the winter solstice (Yule) and the spring equinox (Ostara). Imbolc is often celebrated with fire rituals. Look out for snowdrops, miraculous light in the dark times.

Thread: Saturday is Imbolc, which celebrates the first day of Spring in Ireland. It is an ancient Gaelic-Celtic feast & is also marked as St Bridget’s Day, its Christian re-incarnation. In schools children make Bridget’s crosses to celebrate it. (pictured: Hill of Tara)

I mostly use it to edit my work emails. I type a reply in my email then copy over to chatGPT to polish it up. It just makes everything read more smoothly and sound less wonky like this is probably sounding 😆
