While the previous three protags are stuck with their duties at the end of the game, Warden going off to find the cure for the calling, Hawke cleaning up after Kirkwall, Inky left to stop solas, and their companions largely moving on from those same duties- Rook is the only protag to have freedom. The companions do have duties and missions talked about in the ending slides- it's made clear that Rook's chosen romance will continue and that the Veilguard will stay vigilant. You don’t stay vigilant if you haven’t talked with your friends in a few years! What that looks like is up to us, but with the eluvian network travel has gotten a lot easier for our companions on the factions we share them with. While Rook could technically still have the lingering threat of Those Across the Sea and the Executors over their head, and perhaps that's even why they are staying vigilant, the reality is that they have been working on their little plot for at least decades now, and who knows if that’s even rooks problem at this point.

Im putting some finishing touches on a script, and this little bit just never found a place, so look, a bsky exclusive.

Its a bit messy and I can't be asked to clean it up, but the gist: Rook is the only DA PC to have their friend group in tact by games end, and I think thats beautiful.
