I went on a vigil for Trans Rememberance Day, and a lot of people shared similar stories about how grandparents are way more chill and supportive than parents. I don't know if there are studies on this, but anecdotaly, it seems to be A Thing.

The sad thing is that this current nightmare in the US was inevitable. Oh maybe not NOW, and maybe not TRUMP, but this was coming, sooner or later. The bad education, nationalism, undemocratic electoral system, and full life terms for senior elites was always a festering wound of corruption.

My granny made it to 108. For years my bigot parents tried to hide from her that my brother is gay as she "could never understand."
