Being the victim of abuse explains being an abuser. It neither excuses nor justifies it. The notion that someone who is abused is likely to become an abuser is well established. But they, of all people, should know to seek help. There is no justification for abusing people.

In 2017, a university theatre group refused permission for me to direct a one act play written by a member because it used the word President to refer to the fascist leader being described. It was apparently too controversial. Now it is just realism.

I went through divorce, poverty, prejudice, and serious illness... but am actually right now in a very good place, that I could never have achieved without that hardship. People who love me, a great community, and freedom to be myself. It was worth the trials!

I do. Regularly. We could achieve anything if people stopped thinking of the world as a zero sum game. Like trans rights and same sex marriage. It doesn't take away any rights from others. The only reason to object is selfishness and hatred and misplaced belief that it takes from others.

It did lead me to better things. A good job in the NHS. Then librarian at Cambridge University. So the time was painful getting there, but the death/rebirth cycle took me to a better place. I appreciate the sympthy though! :D

True. Actually, the first company's HR director said she'd support me if I filed for constructive dismissal. I wish I had. But I was in such a state of depression and stress the idea just seemed too big and awful.

Thank you. They were too, though. I was getting calls months later from the first job from people asking for help as they didn't know how to do things. And the second had no clue how to use the system I built for them. Both are huge worldwide multinationals. And useless.

As an initial idea for forced relocation, yes. The actual plans for the conveyer belt of murder and forced labour was based on the model used by British and Germans in South Africa. Given the dates, some of those in the 30s designing it could have had personal knowledge of those camps.
