Hi everyone. I'm requesting help with food, bills, and expenses. I am a SSDI and SNAP recipient with physical and mental health disabilities living in shared housing for women with trauma histories and am just trying to survive. In just the last year I lived through a traumatic roommate situation, the LA fires, and ICE being in LA. I have been diagnosed with PTSD, ADHD, a thyroid condition, and may have a heart condition.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’

Disabled people who have high support needs are not 'less than' and we need to stop treating them like just because they can't reach some arbitrary pinnacle of independence they are worthless. They are not.

I don't care if a non-disabled person accesses a disability accommodation for the same reason I don't care if a child whose parents are rich gets free lunch at school. We don't need to means test being a kind person. I have better things to do with my time than be a cop over social services.

Disabled isn't a dirty word, and it's fine to work through internalized ableism if you were raised thinking so. We live in an ableist world.

Embracing a label of "disabled" made me more confident in asking for accommodations. I can't get through a full work day in person without suffering in pain.

Ms. Rachel, the extremely popular children's YouTube host, is not an antisemite. She loves kids. She has dedicated her life to children. She doesn't like seeing children murdered, maimed, and starved in Gaza or anywhere else. Slandering her as an antisemite over that is pathetic.
