You got it *almost* right. Taormina, where I lived 1958-68, was part of MG in strict sense (Greek colonies founded in Southern Italy from 8th century BC onward. Neapolis ("new city") was founded later by settlers from Cumae 6th c. BC. Culturally and linguistically, it was certainly a Greek city.

I have followed yesterday evening the discussion at #UMass about the new translation of #Marx 's #CapitalBookI. I found it disappointing for many reasons on which I cannot elaborate on now. On somehow a separate note, a theoretical/political discussion about alternative translations could be good.
