Did some baking to relax, then spent some time reading before bed. About the best way I know of to avoid the Sunday Scaries.

📚We're reopening to unagented manuscripts in January. We really encourage LGBTQ+ folk, marginalised and underrepresented writers, disabled, non-London based authors, authors over 40, and writers from working class backgrounds to submit to us.

So frustrating. I hope we see an uptick in a week or two. I’m trying to counter-balance the universe by spending on indie books and the arts (local theater, locally made accessories, etc).

Gosh, I hope so! It’s frustrating since usually this is the best time of year for sales. Has me doubting my ad spending!

My YA Dystopian half-pocalypse - probably not! My husband always says in a zombie apocalypse I’d be one of the first to be eaten because I’d be trying to politely survive and asking zombies to, “Please maybe not do that, okay? Thanks so much.”

Re: that last repost: this year has been horrible for everyone in small-shop retail, long before the election, but this month has been awful for many of us. Your local indie needs your business now more than ever. Capitalism won't solve our problems, but indie bookstores are more than that.

Popped my head out of my office to talk to a family in the waiting room. They immediately told me that they’d read my holiday romance in a single sitting over the weekend and gushed about how it truly felt just like a Hallmark movie.
Like a professional, I grinned, profusely thanked them, then hid.

In a few hours I’ll be making the Autumn Nights Charity Anthology donations.
While the readership has dropped off with no new books being made, I’m still proud of the impact made by authors offering up their stories.

Michigan Library Association backs proposed bills about book banning procedure New state legislation is aiming to standardize how residents can request libraries to remove books and materials.

Anti-book ban legislation has been proposed in Michigan.

I had a chance to look at the proposals from the state library association months ago and they're GOOD.

Michigan may join several other states in being an anti-book ban leader soon.
