21/10/25 - nocturn

A Cornish tree - possibly an ent - with legs, arms and an unusually large bellybutton.

Had to clamber over a barbed wire fence, rip my coat and trespass to get a photo of this folkloric monster pretending half-successfully to be a tree. I have no regrets.

A black and white night photo in my garden. There are small landscaping rocks in the foreground with plants and shrubs dotted around in the background. A raccoon is sitting on the left side of the frame, almost looking at the camera. Its eyes are looking slightly down, its mouth is open showing its lower teeth and lower 2 canine teeth. It has its front paws held together near its stomach. One back paw is slightly raised. Its bushy, ringed tail is on the ground to the side of the raccoon. The raccoon has a mischievous look on its face as if it is making plans for its night, perhaps how it could rip the space-time continuum if necessary. Note: While space-time can be warped, bent, and stretched by massive objects like black holes (or very large raccoons), it is not a solid, breakable fabric.

Consecutive photo with the raccoon still sitting in the same position. This time its face has changed from looking mischievous it now looks totally fun and friendly with its tongue poking out from its mouth just a bit. Its little raccoon ears are visible as is its black face mask and nose along with its white whiskers. Its front paws are still held together, close to its stomach. One back paw is slightly raised. There are shrubs and plants to its sides and behind it.
