Hands in the soil. Watching plants grow without hurry. Listening to trees move in the wind. Clay worked slowly, honestly. Liam and Thad on East 3rd Street, Washington NC—showing up, tending what’s here, letting things become what they are.

MisThing stsying warm. Thad resting aftrr a week of moving.
We are 80% moved in. Still need to relocate pantry. And kitchen from 401.
25.01.2026 16:10 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The bathroom. Finally got the shower ready with hot water working. We can enjoy a hot shower.
The kitchen. My old desk won't fit in the office upstairs so it's a pkace holder for the future island. The stove the previous owner left is not safe. The burners don't turn off. All good for now I've portable induction burners but no oven. Maybe a large toaster oven, sous vide and microwaves. The dink is barely stanfibg . Work in progress.
The living room, currently has a full mattress set. The head board would not fit to go up the tiny 1800’s stairs.
The main bedroom. No closets. Arggg and no heat other than portables.
Rainy sunday. After a week of moving. The barn is full of unorganized stuff. The 219 house is inhaling whilst the 401 house exhales. The goal: get the 401 house ready to present to the next occupant.

The flagstones and most of the bricks removed we repurposed from what the RHH left. This is the area where the potters studio will be relocated pending ok from the historic council we had to agree to remove the outbuilding built on the FEMA lot
The elders fire pit looking east. The Rose Gaven House removed much of the donated bricks and pavers
I have one last tea camellia plant to relocate. This is the comparison. Which really made it easy to change the land. What was the elders fire pit is the new home for our mother stock camellia senensis plants from www.greatmsteacompany.com and www.fleurdelisteaco.com I also have F1 seed and seedlings
29.12.2025 03:39 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Today I created a grape arbor by repurposing the one on the property. 10 x 10 on off center 6 poles. Each will have a single muscadine variety To grow on I’ll also transplant my kiwis onto their own trellis system. We have room to inhale some.

You may have seen the historic Washington announcement sign in front of 319 East Third Street. We are requesting to relocate the potter’s studio and greenhouse from Marjet Street to this site, continuing stewardship through reuse, repair, and intentional growth aligned with our current goals.
27.12.2025 04:43 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The exchange of stewardship allows the Rose Haven Institute to realign and move forward, while the relocation of The Kracked Pot reflects our current aspirations, goals, and the direction we’re ready to grow into.
27.12.2025 04:28 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0We didn’t relocate because of failure. We relocated because an opportunity appeared and we were ready. The Kracked Pot has been successful as an Airbnb host, but East 3rd Street offered something more aligned with where we’re headed. It was the right moment to take it on.

27.12.2025 04:19 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Without much drama, we resolved a situation and took on a dream. We gathered the best of what was left behind and carried it forward. Repurpose. Reuse. Reinvent. That’s my motto for 2026.
27.12.2025 04:17 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0We waited for the land to be released by its former stewards. At the end of November it was let go. In December we signed, released savings, and followed the opportunity. As they relocated what they could, we took on the rest. A true season of transition.
