If your student loans are $10,000 per year and you pay them pre-tax, you can save over $2,000. If you save $5,000 to buy a home, you would save over $1,000 in tax. This would incentivize home ownership and education.

If you give people a tax incentive to save for a home, more will do it. Right now the only optional pre-tax opportunity we have are 401ks for retirement. And when you’re being taxed 22% or more on your highest part of income, it doesn’t much else to save.

Increase childcare credits and increase paid parental leave for mothers and forgive student loan debt for public service sooner —- if working/middle class people can keep more of their paychecks and transition some of the major expenditures from post- to pre-tax then we can net more of our incomes….

I just launched my campaign and in the process of recording videos on the various aspects. But it’s simple — give tax incentives focused on working class/middle class people so that part of their paycheck can go towards a down payment for a home, to save for college (or pay off student loans)…

Brought my 78-year-old dad to the #NoKings rally in Orland Park, Illinois. He’s a lifelong Republican and couldn’t believe how it was just ordinary people like him expressing their First Amendment rights. There are cracks forming in Trump’s base but don’t get complacent! www.duffin4va.com.

In Chicago for a wedding and decided to attend the Orland Park No Kings rally in the SW Suburbs. More than 2,000 people showed up, which is extraordinary as this is a conservative area. No “antifa” or paid protestors—mostly older Americans who are fed up with Trump. Had some great conversations.
