- Represent the same % of the US population as in 1850-1900

- Pay *more* in taxes than what they get in public services (especially the 2nd generation)

So cool you're going to New Orleans! I would recommend checking the Gambit to see what's live when you'll be there. My personal favorites are "Maple Leaf Bar", Tipitinas, "Dos Jefes" (on Saturdays for Sunpie Barnes), "Snug Harbor" and "The Spotted Cat". Let me know if you want some restaurant recs!
