I went down a bit of a rabbit hole yesterday on ships-as-characters for a project. Trying to find a way to make attractive, but also useful art assets for a game.

I hired a number of artists via ArtStation when I was putting Arrhenius together. It was a huge help. I’m working on something else now and it’s harder than it was two years ago due to the influx of AI slop.

Loved the new #Frankenstein flick on Netflix.

I've always felt disappointed that when people agree by saying "here, here!" it isn't spelled "hear here!" as if to say "Listen up, y'all! Truth is being spoken over in this vicinity!"

My least favorite internetism lately is "it's not that deep."

People use it mean "you're overthinking this," but it reads as dismissive of reading between the lines, questioning narratives, or just seeking more info.

Intellectual incuriosity sucks. Actively discouraging curiosity sucks harder.

For the last three days, the number of views to #Arrhenius' itch page has doubled each day. At this rate, I'll have over 500 million page views a day by next month!

Part of why I hate marketing so much is that so much of it feels sleazy. A totally fair thing to do, I guess, but it feels sleazy.

No, definitely won't. And, I mean, I get it. I think it's the right call. It's just a day like today where the subreddit is repeatedly asking to be introduced to my game and I can't do that is frustrating. 🤪

r/rpg is killing me this morning. There's 4 different threads asking for #ttrpg recommendations essentially all asking "Is there a game just like Arrhenius?" but I can't suggest it due to their self-promotion rules.
