This is purely anecdotal, all artisanal data from yours truly, but kids today seem way overscheduled and yet are often not allowed to just... hang out with friends and be bored and whatever. It feels like kids are more controlled and wrangled and kept "protected." So this kinda tracks? YMMV.

Putting books on hold at your library really helps! My county library originally only ordered 1 copy of GITC, but because of all the hold requests, they've ordered 2 more. And Multnomah County has picked up 12 physical copies when at first they only had 3!
LIBRARY USERS ARE GOOD FOR WRITERS!

So glad I got five books out in MMPB before the format died. They are SO good. Small, cheap, easy to shelve, easy to carry. I’ve often passed on new releases because they are in enormous trade paperbacks. I would buy a lot more in MMPB if I still could. A LOT more.

There have also been concerns raised about our use of the term "African" - "African Translation" is short for "Translated from African Languages" not a description of the stories, and I will continue to listen to the advice of the Black woman editor in South Africa on terminology.

You should oppose hostility to trans rights because trans rights are human rights, full stop.

You should also recognize that the assault on trans rights is an assault on women's rights and on women's equality.
