Tonight's #paperbacksfromhell is THE AMULET (1979) by Michael McDowell for Avon books. McDowell, who died at 49, was a gay writer who specialized in Southern Gothic horror and wrote some of the genres best, equally bizarre and funny. He also wrote the screenplay for Beetlejuice. #retro #70s #horror
