Happy new year! My all sky camera imaged the sky every 15 seconds and this picture shows what happened in the sky in 2025. It shows the length of the night and day with the hourglass shape, the monthly lunar cycle with the diagonal bands, the elevation of the Sun at local noon, and lots of clouds.

I even held off on buying branded merch, promising that I’d buy it when I made it back there again as some form of visiting student/researcher. I bought a photo frame in CO for my office desk so that I could have a reminder of something I was working towards.

It was my dream to one day return for the Graduate Visiting Program or a postdoc. The scientists I met with all recommended the GVP & encouraged me to apply. I was literally talking about it w/ my friends a few days ago, as I was trying to add it to my PhD timeline for my upcoming committee meeting.

When I moved across the country to my PhD program, I visited the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and met some wonderful researchers that gave me a tour and talked with me about their work. I’m devastated to hear about the proposed dismantling. #SaveNCAR

Save NCAR from being dismantled today! The Trump Administration has vowed to dissolve the center that provides critical extreme weather and climate data for our nation.
