Being protected from foreign tech and business which unfortunately are subject to their countries demands is defending national security, China can interfere with ByteDance at any time, which is why a global impact because of TikTok is so stupid. They needed to sell and get out of Chinese influence.

okay, nobody is forcing that move, but people are going there. and, the supreme court just set precedent against free speech by banning tiktok. how is that ok?

I can agree that they aren't communist by definition, but are a national security risk in this case, foul play by China when it comes to TikTok is possible. ByteDance is a Chinese company.

its undeniable that there are missing checks and balances for a country that has one, sole, ruling party. that makes a government that can break the rules and keep it under the table. that is authoritarianism.

Doesn't sound great any way you look at it, the ruling party in china has singular control over the government, that party being the chinese communist party, by name.

that aside communism is an agenda that china is possible to, or already is, trying to push, and gaining more control over public opinion is a factor. in terms of if the chinese government can interfere with ByteDance, the answer is a resounding yes.

you have to think for 1 second about the state of the government in china, it is a communist ruled state...
