Trump and Vance act as if the problem is that Ukraine is resisting an ongoing Russian invasion. The problem is the ongoing Russian invasion. If they want to use American power to stop the war, apply it to the aggressor. Abusing the victim is not going to end a war of aggression.

Given that the Trump people did nothing to induce Russia to end the war, it’s fair to conclude that the whole idea of pursuing peace was just a pretext to renew relations with Russia.

In light of the disgraceful behavior by the president and vice president, every elected official, Republicans and Democrats alike, should step up to speak for freedom and the truth. If you're elected by the American people, you have some standing to try to save what can be saved of America's honor.
