Farewell to Doctor Who script editor Christopher H Bidmead, who died on August 8. He brought a singular creative vision to season 18 and was an entertaining commentor across many DVDs and John Nathan-Turner's biography. See you on the other side (E-Space).

Very sorry to see that Christopher H Bidmead has died. They've gone in and out of favour over the years but Logopolis, Castrovalva and Frontios are three of my favourite stories of all time. Season 18 was and is *magnificent*, a high watermark of Who.

Sad to read the news of the death of Christopher H. Bidmead.

His time on DW may have been brief, but his impact was huge. Logopolis and Castrovalva are such brilliant stories and a were fantastic way of relaunching the show. A brilliant thinker, whose ideas were a real shot in the arm for the show

It’s a beautiful cover and it gives me similar vibes of The Impossible Planet, the start of Army of Ghosts and Utopia. It makes me wish we’d had more alien landscape (quarry) stories for 10. I love this!

I will always remember Christopher H Bidmead for his originality and the conceptual and deeply creative writing in his work. S18 is especially underrated and yet it consists of some of very interesting and surreal ideas. I will watch a Bidmead story tomorrow in celebration of his life. Rest well sir

Very sad to hear we've lost Christopher H Bidmead. Always struck me as a very genial chap who took his work seriously but not himself. Hard to over-express my admiration for Frontios, and the ideas in Logopolis and Castrovalva, where mathematics is treated as where philosophy and poetry meet.

I really enjoyed watching the Terror of the Zygons LIVE stream with SO many DW fans! What a lovely way to spend a Saturday evening! Thank you @bbcdoctorwho 🫡🙏🏼💙💙
