19.09.2025 05:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sounds like itβs time for a trip to LA. βοΈ
27.06.2025 02:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I do notice some people have a really hard time being tactful about supporting a good cause.
16.06.2025 08:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's funny how they pile up over the years.
16.06.2025 08:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs kind of nice, assuming I donβt need to be anywhere or do anything at that time.
29.05.2025 23:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'd say a large part of it is the users. Since BlueSky pushes content based on activity, not purely likely interest, you get a lot of buzz on topics like politics that get people talking rather than purely socializing for the sake of it. It's an interesting shift, but not a shocking one.
26.05.2025 09:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's pretty solid overall. Not having a car is actually viable there. You should try it if you visit the city.
15.05.2025 03:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I feel like it's not that bad in San Francisco.
14.05.2025 23:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It just keeps getting better too!
11.05.2025 16:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'd say it's with a playthough if you liked BOTW.
08.05.2025 17:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Seems like a lone star tick, yes.
08.05.2025 16:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Staying informed can be really draining in its own way.
07.05.2025 21:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Progress is progress
06.05.2025 00:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You gotta love the people who make being a conservative their entire personality. Itβs like politics are a sports team to them.
05.05.2025 22:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs not just old people. Even as someone younger the pace at which we churn through trends has gotten ludicrous in the last 10 years.
05.05.2025 15:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You would need the ENTIRE EU to coordinate together to actually βreplaceβ the United States, which is the heart of the issue. It canβt just be Germany or France or Poland doing whatever is convenient for them, the whole block needs to move as one and integrate to the benefit of everyone in Europe.
05.05.2025 14:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That would still just be China being a major economic player, with Germany as a junior partner. China doesnβt gain as much from Germany beyond a place to ship exports to and certain specialized goods. Germany is more comparable to California or Texas than the whole of the US.
05.05.2025 14:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Stress as motivation is really a double edged sword. It does get stuff done, but you feel absolutely miserable during and after the task. I really wish it wasnβt the way I worked, but I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
29.04.2025 17:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That is, in fact, China being a big exporter. I'm not sure how that ties into the EU though.
29.04.2025 15:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I guess, but that feels a bit besides the point when we're talking about the EU stepping into roles that the US has filled. The American system is far from perfect, but it's part of what enables it to be such a big player. The EU, by comparison, ends up with a lot less impactful economic might.
29.04.2025 08:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Investment has been moving, but I'd argue that's more a reaction to Trump's administration causing uncertainty than an endorsement of the EU. Still, that is a positive for the EU, although I'm not sure how permanent it will be.
29.04.2025 08:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Who said anything about the president? It's the whole of the federal government that gets some authority and rights over the states. It's not unlimited, but it doesn't really need to be. The intent is that the federal government can make decisions for the nation as a whole, which sets direction.
29.04.2025 08:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sometimes, yes, but keep in mind this is a team that includes people like Viktor OrbΓ‘n. I still think there's a lot of good in the EU'S approach, but being slow does hamper things a bit if the goal is being a 'superpower' that can fully stand in for the US, or at least be a true equal partner.
29.04.2025 08:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Even with the current US administration being morons, it doesn't suddenly erase the structural compromises the EU has due to its unique origin as an economic union turned political union. Just my opinion, but individual countries would need to hand over some more control to the commission first.
29.04.2025 08:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The EU can struggle on that front a lot. For example, trying to scrape together a coherent weapons package for Ukraine has been a mess because no one wants to agree on who pays for it or who gets the extra manufacturing work. Issues the US doesn't really have (assuming competent leadership) often.
29.04.2025 08:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0But they're all still more or less forced to go along with the federal government for international affairs and large-scale projects, for better or worse. Theres pros and cons to the federal system, but it's a big part of why the US is such a powerhouse (when leadership is competent).
29.04.2025 08:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0It really can't until it stops bickering internally about what direction they want to take. The EU has all of the tools and most of the resources to seriously rival the US and China, but the fact that its 27 countries with different wants and needs hampers that. Cohesion is needed first.
29.04.2025 08:21 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No harm in trying it!
