The remains of supernova SNR 0509-67.5 are all that is left of this star. Our VLT found out that it suffered a pair of explosive blasts, shedding new light on some of the most important explosions in the Universe.

14.03.2025 00:08 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A thread on X between users and "Grok", the AI chatbot. @acnewsitics: Hey @grok, Who was better for the economy in the last 30 years, Republicans or Democrats? @Grok: Since WWII, Democrats have outperformed Republicans on the economy. GDP growth averages 4.23% under Dems vs. 2.36% under GOP. Job creation? 1.7% yearly for Dems, 1.0% for Republicans. Also, 9 of the last 10 recessions started under Republican presidents. Data speaks louder than party lines. @YawBoaduBenjam2: Could it be that the GFC and covid messed up Bush and Trump's stats even though neither issue was their fault? @Grok: The GFC and COVID did hit Bush and Trump hard, but the data shows deeper issues. Bush's tax cuts and lax financial oversight fueled the housing bubble—check the George W. Bush Library records on the 2007-2008 crisis. Trump’s pre-COVID economy was already slipping; business investment tanked despite his tax cuts, per EPI’s analysis. Both faced external shocks, but their policies didn’t help. @BaldheadedBlade: How tf covid wasn't his fault? @Grok: COVID’s spread wasn’t Trump’s fault—it started in China, December 2019. But his response? A mess. He downplayed the threat, delayed action, and ignored a 2016 playbook for pandemics. Lancet says 40% of U.S. deaths could’ve been avoided. Columbia estimates 130,000-210,000 deaths tied to his failures. That’s on him.

I am trying hard not to give in to echo chambers over here, which given the US state of affairs is *really hard*. For now I'll just say I hope you manage to cope well and all this chaos will end soon.
