It's just so much eh. Turnout has been low and I do care about council (I'm a former candidate, I ran twice!) so I want to make it happen. My friend is ferrying me there on her lunch break so I can. I hate having to think about shelving stuff that I want to do cos of my health

Right now though, this looks like a bus to the pharmacy, then another 10 min bus to town, then walking several blocks in a crash, then thinking clearly and without fog to navigate an overwhelming STV form accurately, then getting home safe. And that's tiny when you're abled. I'm not.

Meds for my kid and I are far more important but if I don't make it out to vote I'll be ridiculed by friends for not participating, so it's a rough balance.

One of those days I could really use my own support worker.

MSD cut off my Supported Living Payments and my payments stopped this week because in the flurry of OSCAR subsidy letters and finishing my masters and being constantly sick, I missed a review letter. Boo

I wanna say this is a one-off experience but nearly every second bloody taxi ride I have is like this. And none of my Uber rides. And it's absolutely abysmal for a service I need to get out and about.

Anyway did you know that "Māori weren't the first ones here", that "it's terrible they keep adding letters to place names like Wānaka and Oamaru", and "in America they spell better, like "tough" is "T-U-double-F".

Ubers are playing calm music and the drivers focused on the trip.

Taxis are playing fuckin talkback radio and getting pissed off at other drivers.

I get the gig economy concerns, but I'd love to see Total Mobility cover Ubers.

An Uber will show me on the map where they're at, arrive on time, and let me ride in peace.

A taxi will get there 30 mins after I call with no warning, and the driver will spout racist misinfo the whole ride.

Single parenting in the holidays with only family for childcare and two jobs and 3000 words/3 weeks left on a Masters is ROUGH. Today I've parented, been to a big provider hui, been to another work hui, done laundry and dishes, and I'm only just sitting down at 2.24pm able to maybe write 🤪
