โ€˜Der Tigerโ€™ trashes Fury. I watched the German-language version. The plot is a bit thin, but attention to armour detail, fairly believable tactical behaviour, & a hard anti-war frame that also confronts war crimes without collapsing into pathos. #AFV #Amazon

I will never understand why James Cameron decided the waste the second half of his career making films about these godforesaken jungle smurfs.

Tomohawk or Kittyhawk? They changed the name after P40-D I think. Anyway it's on my list. Just finished reading Derek Robinson's 'A good clean fight'. Put me in the mood to make one. Anyway lovely build.

Thanks, it's faffy, but if you look closely at the photos of the original Frisco Kid (my second post), the real nose cone wasn't exactly perfect.

Emphasis is usually structural first and foremost. Weather resistance next. Also, trying to prolong the life of the original stonework using sympathetic conservation techniques, usually lifeworks, indent repairs using a (as near as possible) match of the type of original stonework and lime mortar.

3mm masking tape around the bottom of the cone adjusted until straight and made a little loop of 6mm tamiya tape for the crown and just sat it on top.Spent a wee while adjusting everything until it looked right. More 6mm tape bellow the 3mm and bob's your uncle.

Finished Airfix 1/48 P51D 'Frisco Kid'. Great kit. Thoroughly enjoyed making this. Used Mr Color Super metallic2 for the chrome finish. Highly recommend, nice paint with no thinning required. Tried to get the weathering to match original (pictured) not sure I achieved it.

On the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, we thought we'd answer a question that's often asked,

"If they raised the Mary Rose, why not raise the Titanic?"

Allow our scaled diagram to explain...

Now, his statue is in the Rood screen of St. Albans Abbey as one of the seven martyrs. Carved by the late Sculptor Rory Young helped by his assistant, my wife.

Sikh Indian Army soldier, Berber tribesman, and camel all Masterbox all pre-weathering. I've a mind to do a Wadi diorama. I've got a Tamiya Fiat 508 staff car that I'd like to add also, make it a bit October '43.

Tell me about it. Binned a Gecko K2y Ambulance last year. Over engineered and massively confusing instructions. Also sprews have quite heavy jointing to parts, trying to clean up a 1.5mm wide radius arm after removing it from the sprew made me question my life choices. Never again.

Humphreyโ€™s world: how the Samuel Smith beer baron built Britainโ€™s strangest pub chain Since the 1970s, Humphrey Smith has acquired scores of pubs and historic properties around the UK. But time after time, he has left the buildings empty. Why has he allowed his empire to moulder?

I worked for Sam Smith's briefly in the 90's at his Quarry, Banker masonry, and if there wasn't any, I'd sort random rubble in the Quarry bottom for ยฃ5
a tonne. From what I could gather about him then he was a fucking loony, wouldn't have numbers on his drays so he couldn't be audited for wealth.

Blending flesh tones is really hard when you start. It really comes down to practice makes perfect. I'm still on the low slopes, but getting better. I recommend VMS Varnish HD Matt for matt coating, it's clear out of the bottle so no milky residue.

28th-28th Nov, 1942. Victoria Cross action of Flt/Sgt Rawdon โ€˜Ronโ€™ Middleton. He was pilot of a 149 Squadron Stirling on a mission to bomb the Fiat works in Turin, Italy. The aircraft had already struggled to reach 12,000 feet to cross the Alps, leaving barely enough fuel to return to England.
