Al Gore warned us some two decades ago that we faced an “Inconvenient Truth.” We didn’t heed his warnings, and now he warns us again. Will we heed it now?

Our show was built for sensitive times and has only functioned through what the real world is going through in real time. I want to be there to provide what writers do so well, which is a way to bring us together or help us make sense of the human experience. I hope for a resolve for everyone as soon as possible. We have navigated difficult times since we first came on air. And so I take a step forward to start season 4 once again with an astute humility.
Drew Barrymore's attempt to explain why she's bringing back her show without writers is, among other things, a real lesson in why she needs writers

A Saudi man has been sentenced to death for criticizing the government on two anonymous twitter/X accounts with a total of ten followers.

Gosh, NPR, I can't imagine how the Saudi authorities could have verified his identity on X.
It's funny (albeit distressing) when I discover historical parallels to modern problems
Just like how today's right wing hates when we call their 'reasonable positions' racist, I just came across a National Review piece from 1965 like Why are we called racists just bc we oppose Black voting rights?
Yaaaaasssss!!!!!!!!!

They are enraged that their book banning tactics have been turned against them and are retaliating. The DOJ needs to charge these people mentioned upthread with hate crimes.

Welp. I guess I really should do a Copyright Chat episode about the recent injunction in the IA case. Who should I interview?

It's as legal (or not) as it was last week most other places. 📚📜
