in general, it’s meaningful to have ownership, to feel like one can have a positive stake in a place. the distributed atprotocol and the portability of connections seems to actually mean that this has potential beyond a “service” or “platform”.. so you’re seeing people letting themselves care

a person dedicated to hatred is a person deeply starved of love, a person who does not believe that love exists and has trapped themselves in hell by acting in such a way as to make themselves as unlovable as possible

at the center, each ______ I meet is a hiker, traveling in the terrain of their self. in everyone’s face I see the glimpses of a sincere and depthful practice that can mostly never be shared, will never be seen. these hikers I respect, their path their own.

I’m just here to say: talking to others who have been on the path for decades more than you have is incredible. they don’t have the answers, only you do (or having the answers isn’t helpful) but they hold the familiarity of moving through a question. so much wisdom in age.

you can move without having everything figured out. with the movement comes information that is used to recalibrate and shift direction. so get out there. mess up. make mistakes.

I think there’s a particular voice that wants to emerge here that’s distinct from Twitter, for me. something bubbling under the surface, neither alt nor non-alt, but some other way of relating and being online, in another (more optimistic) social experiment of a place…

mmm - my opinion is that modalities that offer theories of wrongness risk pathologizing parts of the self. instead of wrongness, I think of a knot - which isn’t made of anything, but the rope getting in its own way. I think therapies should/do have theories of knottedness, instead
