08.08.2025 22:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0www.ocfrealty.com/naked-philly... LMAO the city had to pay 80k to the monuments commission for damages to the rizzo statue. The statue will be resurrected somewhere in the city but thankfully not in a place people will be able to see it normally per the deal.

Even the article points out that this has no bases in law and if gone to court will be thrown out. Whole city is run by concerned parents on nextdoor type people.
07.08.2025 22:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Why they killed it is so dumb, signage limits (big ass sign out front already), the ceiling to low for a comedian but not for the restaurant(????) and the that the ZBA board thinks this guys business idea might not make him enough money so they just said no to him. What a joke.
07.08.2025 20:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This was on BROAD. Why is Philly run by morons?
07.08.2025 19:37 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Are there actually any historians/architects in of any of the HDs? I remember looking through one board some years ago and not finding any. Otherwise they would know historically the people built the cube for both tax and space reasons, also step backs dont match the surrounding styles.
07.08.2025 20:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0feel that rizzo would of been caught doing this in delco too in his older age.
07.08.2025 18:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Keeping the old building removes that weird fenced in gap which seems nice. The tapered sides that the HDs love now just doesn't look good though and idk why they HDs are trying to make builders do this to hide height. Turns a handsome building in to a weird awkward felling one.
07.08.2025 18:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0maps.archives.upenn.edu/WestPhila177... Cool map here that Upenn made. Overlays all property lines and the names of who owned them from the year 1777. Must of taken quite a bit of work to get all the names, also shows just how many lots we lost over at the east market empty lawn district.
07.08.2025 16:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Pretty sure its to do with the businesses model of ads. Often those old forums relied on denotations and maybe had a couple ads around and were also way cheaper to run. What I find sad is that wave after wave of people come and join bsky only to go back to the nazi site.
07.08.2025 16:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great write up on the HD and HC. crazy how we just have a mayor then a bunch of other mayors in the city who are creating their own little fiefdoms between the HDs and the CMs.
06.08.2025 19:41 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Think we can both tax and regulate this sort of stuff. seeing as we cant ban these machines that are just reverse ATMs.

05.08.2025 22:59 β π 7 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0its about as sweet as American stuff. drink a Pellegrino its the same stuff. also your only drink like a cup or a can of it. no where near the amount of water you need a day.

05.08.2025 08:28 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I mean sure they have a few fountains in some places but most places just dont. Relatives and friends of the family also said they were kind of nasty which people in the USA hold that same thought on outdoor ones. My family is from marche region and its rare I see a drinking fountain out there.

04.08.2025 18:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ya and its HOT in Italy. They often just stay indoors until it gets cooler out but someday its sweating in the shower type heat cause most house dont have AC (slowly changing). younger people tend to drink a bit more water but man the older people at most you get them drinking lemonades.

My dad is from Italy and over there they drink 0 water, so sounds about right. I'd eat at the family house and there would be no water served often. Mostly coffee booze and maybe some room temp sparkling water if people are feeling fancy. We just drink a whole lot more water here.

03.08.2025 21:01 β π 13 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Oh yes the AC line is the last remaining remnant of the old PRR and reading sea shore lines, iirc 13 round trips a day to AC which is great.
