And over Saturday and Sunday we had huge demand for the now iconic Build Baby Build hats signed by the unstoppable Steve Reed MP. Thanks to everyone who came across the week and showed how committed Labour is to getting Britain building!

Bat Conservation Trust: "The amendments do not go far enough"

Badgers Trust: "We cannot back the amendments to the Planning Bill"

Wildlife Trusts: "the amendments are not enough"

NGOs will not be satisfied by concessions in the Lords and can't be trusted to act in good faith.

The organisations these amendments are trying to satisfy cannot be trusted.

Many promised to support the P & I Bill before publication, but have since done nothing but attack it.

They are not honest brokers and care more about blocking new homes than protecting nature.

Amendments to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill will water down meaningful reform that is needed if we are to build 1.5 million homes this Parliament, and risk disappointing the millions of young voters who voted Labour in 2024 to solve the housing crisis.

Labour Yimby are disappointed by the Government’s decision to concede to the Nimby lobby on the planning reforms this country so desperately needs.

For the first time the Labour Government is backing the blockers, not the builders.

By allowing mayors powers to call in strategic planning applications, and giving them the power to levy London-style community infrastructure levys to get developments moving, it removes more bottlenecks in the planning system.

The government’s white paper on devolution today is a welcome step.

As housing is approved at the local level, fixing local government is key to improving the supply of housing.
