The Greatness Behind Me I was going to erase myself from the picture, but the world is confusing enough without me posting a picture of my four grandparents looking in ten different directions at 100 different cameras.

I was part of a conversation yesterday about the Black community’s relationship to the land. Of course, I thought about my grandparents taking up space even when systems and institutions gave the message that they didn’t belong. We aren’t going anywhere.

I just said nonfiction was my favorite but this novel right here left me speechless.

I like my characters messy with a lot of twists and turns. Dominion exceeded those expectations. And Addie E. Citchens wraps it up in under 250 pages.

This is a quick listen and definitely worth your time.

Now I need to go back and start The Wire from the beginning.
