Historians know that incorrect information becomes increasingly hard to fact check over time. We are sleep walking into an age of misinformation as we increasingly rely on AI to think for us.

E.g. in science or even education in Germany, ChatGPT and others are increasingly being introduced by institutions, and students are given accounts and encouraged to "try it out." This, and the naive use by so many other users... 🤯

We need more #SciCom about the #environmental risks of #AI!

Super wichtig!

Text from the announcement which says the AI technology "means all students can benefit from personalised formative feedback in minutes, including guidance on how they can demonstrably improve their own work and critical thinking skills. Actionable insight is accessible to faculty and leaders, revealing the scale of engagement with support, cohorts requiring intervention, and measurable learning progress."

Not at all concerning to learn that Universities UK are partnering with a company to sell an AI product that offers automated feedback on student work. Who needs staff?

Someone grab the A1!

The LLM-to-malware pipeline is a perfect downward spiral: AI generates code with imaginary packages, attackers register those package names with malware, and unsuspecting developers execute the code. Another way AI errors cascade into real-world threats.

#IchBinHanna Looking for an apartment. Many housing ads prefer tenants with a stable (unbefristete) work contracts. Some say this explicitly. Now look at us, people with a PhD in late 30s, with only 1- or 2-year contracts or fellowships or shorter. Even harder when you’re foreigners.
