I caught myself doing both of those last night. Burned a few exposures on bad focus, then ended up with my finger firmly in the way because I was holding the lens ala SLR. Iโ€™m sure weโ€™ll get there. It just takes time to adjust.

Apple plus Sonos house here. Tried HomePods but the interface just wasnโ€™t polished enough for multiple audio sources (internet radio, SoundCloud, Apple Music, etc). Apple TV into Sonos Beam works brilliantly.

Is Tidal quality better than Apple Music Lossless?

Semi serious first world question, I see a lot of folks switching to Tidal, is their artist compensation model any better than Spotify (hard not to be) or Apple? Or is it just for the quality?

Follow up question

One of my favourites from yesterday's photowalk around Battersea. The light looks like it's arcing through the branches.

Axiom's fourth mission sending pierogi to ISS - and science Here's hoping freeze-dried Polish dumplings are just as good as ones freshly fried in butter

Dumplings in spaaaaace!

Love a pierรณg, although now I'm curious as to which of the many flavours will be orbiting the Earth in due course.

But even if we do solve all of these issues (and the many more that are sure to arise) I will take no small pleasure in my nostalgic recollections of a simpler, happier time, and consider myself quite lucky to have been there to witness it.

I hope that Bluesky can overcome the challenges facing a modern player in this world, that federation can be achieved to increase the openness and therefore longevity of this next generation, and that sustainability can be achieved to avoid the need for greedy monetisation techniques.

Openness is key. Open APIs, access to users, and freedom for all to join are the very essence of what made the original platform great. The community built amazing, wonderful things that only added to the depth of the network.

Looking now, at the smoking ruin that's left where once we chatted, played, debated, and shared, and from a completely different version of the same concept (from the same creator) I would take one key learning from the life and death of Twitter:

It was flaky at times, the fail whale was a real and regular occurrence, but the open API meant it was both embraced and extended in ways we couldn't imagine.

18 years ago today, 7th Feb 2007, I created an account on a six month old app* called Twitter. It was still very new, hashtags weren't even an informal thing, and strangely engaging. As the platform grew, it was instrumental in developing my skills through access to freely shared knowledge.

happy first birthday to Bluesky, and what a year it's been!

with every day, the need for an open network that puts people first becomes increasingly clear. we're glad to be building this with you. after all, the heart of a social network is the people.

It's an institution that simply has to be preserved to maintain the diversity of cinema in the UK capital. So please sign if you can, and visit if you're passing!

If you're not aware the PCC is one of the last independent cinemas in London and shows Double Features, 70mm presentations, animated selections, interactive events, such as our World Famous SING-A-LONG-A presentations, all-night movie marathons and more, as well as later runs of new releases.

Save The Prince Charles Cinema The iconic Prince Charles Cinema in Londonโ€™s West End future is under serious threat! We are beyond disappointed that our landlords Zedwell LSQ Ltd and their ultimate parent company Criterion Capital...

Super important if you're a fan of independent film in the UK (or further afield) the Prince Charles Cinema in London is being subjected to some landlord douchebaggery. Sign the petition today to ensure they can negotiate and keep this institution alive:
