We warmed up to -30 today

Our version of the Ukrainian Sviata Vechera (Christmas Eve dinner). Featuring kutia (cold sweetened wheat soup), 3 kinds of perogies, meatless cabbage rolls, beet rolls in cream sauce, and dessert pompushky (think fried dough with prune filling), and a variety of other home baked goodies. I'm full!

I'd never used a cookie mould before - it's a basswood block. I got it especially for making speculaas cookies (also my first attempt).

We had the -40 all this week (real temp, not wind chill).
It 'warmed up' to -26 yesterday.

Spent today making donuts with a friend. It was an adventure, but we each finished with a baker's dozen regular donuts, a bag of timbits, and full tummies from sampling.

The visiting doggo got a bit excited this morning!
