i mentioned Lightning Bolt to my psychiatrist and he said "oh, i like them. haven't listened to them in awhile". so now for the next ten appointments i have to figure out if he actually likes Lightning Bolt, or if he's just trying to create common ground for therapeutic purposes

i send my wife weird animation stuff i find on bluesky, and in return she shows me the funny tik toks. this is called Homeostasis and it's considered a positive sign for a healthy household

maybe i'm being harsh, and credit where it's due, the plot is a nice twisty mess that ties right up at the end. but in service of that plot, we have to solve "The Mystery of the Ruined Talent Show" and "The Mystery of The Big Piece of Ice"

however i am about to dive into the DLC, and the DLC for Case was exceptionally good. so i'm pretty optimistic. just as along as we get a couple more guys getting blown through doors in tableau, or getting their lives sucked away by magic, or SOMETHING

there was just less friction, and maybe that's part of why i wasn't feeling it so much, but you know what i think it really is? there are barely any murders in this game! in Case there were TONS of murders, in this game there's, i dunno, 5 or 6? it's outrageous! the best mysteries have bodies!

just finished the main story in Rise of the Golden Idol. turns out you can turn off the hotspot markers, which was a huge upgrade imo. i liked it a lot, i dunno. organizing my thoughts about it. i will say that there was nothing in Rise, nothing, that was as cool as this:
