Ive been trying to get into crpg's for years but there was a weird phenomenon when baldurs gate 1 was coming out where they thought it would be cooler to do fake real time that's actually turn based but much more confusing and harder to control, and theres more of those than turn based ones it seems

still a bit wild to me how many people seem to think turnbased gameplay only existed because we werent capable of real time gameplay yet or something
