Performance ranks should then be point limits, maybe still with hard limits against each thing (like how it is currently, but higher limits as the points will cause limits on performance causers as-is).

When you open the menu and see people's performance ranks, show the points value too.

IDK what the actual values should be, but I'm sure the devs, who can actually use debugging tools to run the maths on the performance can set those fairly.

I've often said an idea i think would make a better optimisation system:

Weight the categories and give them point values. So every 1k tries is a point, every material is 3 points, every skinned mesh render is 5 points ect.

An avi that's already at 67k tris is very difficult to edit without being forced from medium to very poor. When an avi can already be over 70k polys forcing you to be very poor regardless, you don't see much point in trying.

Poor and Very Poor having slightly higher poly limits, may help with that?

I'm beginning to think that a big reason for people (who edit their own avis) having the attitude of not giving a shit may well come down to the Avatar base they're working with.

It won't be the same style as the tori avis are. Not only do I not want to spend months being harassed about it, but I'm not sure I could do it proper justice yet. My current plans are for something more cassette futurism.

That other artist's model was a robot girl similar to Runa (but not the same). That other artist has barely been publicly heard from since, and has all but left the VRC space, due to the harassment.

A tesla is a good example actually, because if you drive an older Tesla model, you may've bought it before Musk was known to be insane.

Tori isn't as well known as musk, so I think the Tesla as a red flag certainly fits well.

Thread tl:dr; Torinyan started publicly attacking and defaming his community members, had a mass ban wave, and now actively supports the ripping of things made by people he dislikes.

He also started harassing and encouraging his community to harass another artist for making an avi he didn't like.

As someone who obviously has issues with him, I also use the avi i bought before I knew he was like this, I think that's perfectly valid.

That said, the fact he's been harassing and bullying people out of VRC entirely and nobody at VRC has done anything about it is beyond disappointing.

With people talking about optimisation, something that would I think help immensely, would be if the VRC Parameter Driver could add 2 float parameters together.

The stupid workarounds to just add 2 values cannot be efficient.
