"Rosh Hashanah is the birthday of humanity, and it's a time for us to build hope in the human spirit," Yanklowitz said. "I encourage us all to create circles of hope in Arizona where we can not be living suspicious of each other but more curious and hopeful about what we can build together."

Rabbi Shmuly shared much more about this fragile moment in American society but he also told the reporter that we need to look past him.

Rabbi Shmuly told the reporter at The Arizona Republic that, when Tucker Carlson visited here a few days ago, he spoke an "antisemitic trope that has led to blood libels throughout history" and "caused so much harm to Jews over centuries ... these are real dog whistles."
