It’s my dads birthday today and @airbubbles.bsky.social and I drove down to his lake house to do some fishing! And for a present I… brought him all the frozen salmon Steve and I had in our fridge so he could smoke it. 😂

Ultimate Guard using AI to extend existing art is funny timing. I literally applied to a job somewhere last night where that would be one of my tasks. The art expansion, not the AI part. I breathe a little sigh of relief knowing companies out there are still trusting artists with art related tasks.

Picked this deck box up from @ultimateguard.bsky.social and I was so excited until I flipped it over. Looks like my art was extended with ai.

@magic.wizards.com needs to make sure their partners don’t do this.

I would have happily extended this for a couple hundred $$. Instead it looks awful!

(Also, I feel that you can really tell if an artist has had or been around certain animals based on how they draw said animals. Like bunnies. Ppl who own bunnies and art bunnies just get bunnies RIGHT. I dunno how to explain. Like the faces just have that bunno expression.)

Artists getting to memorialize pets, friends, and family members in things like Magic is so so cool. Even if not everyone KNOWS that a critter or person is referenced in such a way, it’s still a lovely tribute.

FYI, the artist who did the Warren Warleader card based the big warrior bunny on their own late rabbit whose name was Edward. They posted on Twitter that they hoped ppl would call the card “Edward” (like ppl use “Gary” for Gray Merchant of Asphodel) and I think we should absolutely do that.

Job Interview Person: “Why do you want this job?”
Me: “Well I want some pet bunnies again and those m-fers are expensive. Also I like art and people say I’m nice to work with.”

I still absolutely intend to take freelance work and personal commissions because those are FUN, but momma lives in a capitalist society and needs to make money to live and adopt a couple new bunnies at some point.

Stayed up way too late last night, but I revised my resume and wrote what I think is a decent cover letter I can easily revise for applications, so it wasn’t totally bad.

Steve pulled this beautiful galaxy foil from a collectors pack the other day! We don’t really splurge for the expensive packs, but this MtG set was tailor made for him so he deserved to spoil himself! (Also, this photo doesn’t do any justice to this card. It’s stunning in person.)

Also keep going into the hole of "I have so many other things that are high priority right now to do" and streaming seems so silly in comparison, even if it IS something I can build up.

This went on for almost a year for me because I was told over and over "it's just allergies." And since then, if I get sick, I am almost guaranteed to have a persistent cough for a few weeks afterward. And I got whooping cough as an adult. Think about a child going thru that shit.

I cannot stress enough how bad whooping cough is. I imagine ppl think "Coughing? Whatever." The amount and severity of coughing that happens w/whooping cough WRECKS you. I could not sleep. I threw out my back. I would vomit. I went to urgent care b/c I woke up one morning unable to breathe.

Talking about NIKKE with the husband and how the Nier crossover story is legit good, which leads to him going “ooooo now they need to do a WH40k crossover,” and immediately follows with: “Nikkes are servitors.”

So now THAT’S on my mind and makes NIKKE even more horribly sad.
