Photo of the comet, just above a fence post.
I did get a photo of the comet, but it's slightly unimpressive.
Still, happy to say I've been able to photograph one :)

Time exposure of a dead tree at night time with car lights going past, in black and white
Went out to get some photos of C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) comet last night, but was distracted by a dead tree...

Grey photo of a submerged tree in Lake Eildon, where only the top branches are visible.
A spooky photo from our Lake Eildon trip this time.
On the drive in we saw a pack of Dingoes and could hear them howling at night.
It was exciting to see them in the wild for the first time but on alert camping with small kids and them close by.
Thought I saw a familiar face as I was scrolling.

Photo of a public piano, available for anyone to play, in Mt Evelyn.

Black and white photo of a piano
I went for a wander up to Mt Evelyn and took some photos of the public piano, part of the Community Keys project.
If you're in Mt Evelyn, it's located under the verandah of Community Link (behind the main carpark in Wray Cres), until Feb 28.

23.11.2024 09:07 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A black and white photo of two White Cockatoos sitting on a shopping trolley in front of a graffitied wall.
I took this photo about a year ago, and it's still one of my favourites. It really was a 'right place at the right time' shot, as I was sitting in the car, and getting out to move would have scared them away.
White Cockatoos sitting on a shopping trolley in front of a graffitied shed wall.
Oh nice. I'd heard people talk about starter packs but had no idea where to find them haha.
19.11.2024 21:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! That's one of my favourites too.
They are wild, but Sulphur Crested White Cockatoos, which are a bit bigger than a Cockatiel. Also a LOT louder.
Thanks @lalaindiemaker.bsky.social!
Yes, I've got the alt text on all my photos so far (it's easy to forget though).
A photo of a Black Wallaby resting in the shade. Black and white photo, by Joy Phillips
Swapping from RedBubble to InPrnt, and X to Threads to BlueSky I've realised there's a lot of photos I've never posted anywhere.
This is a photo of a Black Wallaby, which are completely adorable, taken earlier this year.

A photo of a dragonfly on pink flowers
I love trying to photograph dragonflies, and I completely admire any photographer who is able to capture them in flight!
This one must have been asleep as it didn't move the whole time. And it was huge! I'd have loved to take more with details, but was a bit worried I'd disturb it.
A photo of Laughing Kookaburra sitting on a tree branch
I've had an account here for a while, but never really used it, so I'm trying again.
I'll mostly be posting my photography, speculative fiction musings, and interesting nature news I discover.
Here's my garden friend, a Laughing Kookaburra.
Space travel. It sounds exciting, but I think it would be so lonely.
