I heard from righties and lefties that bitcoin was a hedge against the dollar, but they often rise and fall simultaneously. Maybe I’m missing some nuance.

Pardon the Interruption but this is State Media now.

So many lawyers would say that same thing if you gave them truth serum. It’s why I got out, and I am grateful to have left. If I’d have had anyone other than myself to support, I’d still be doing it.

When you want to be a public official for the power part but not the public service part.

β€œJudges cite literature” is a sleight of hand defense that suggests that they’re just as likely to cite other religious texts as they sign off. You know that’s not true. The principle at issue doesn’t need a sectarian rationale or defense.

I accept that your view has carried the day, but I disagree that it is more acceptable - and less sectarian - by virtue of how well-known and predominant Christianity is in our culture. The same principle defended with a citation to the Quran or the Vedas would not be defended on the same grounds.

I understand what it is.

What if he signed every Order with β€œJesus is Lord”?

What if a different judge signed off on an Order with β€œJesus was full of shit.”

To me, all of those examples are unreasonably sectarian and promote a particular religious position.

I understand I’m losing the forest for the trees here, but doesn’t a judge citing to the Gospels in his signature plausibly violate the Establishment Clause?

Why would this headline not just be β€œVideos Contradict…”

What do they gain by equivocating?

Imagine if they’d let ACC Champ Duke in. Would’ve been dominant.

As a half-assed Panthers fan but full-assed contrarian, I kind of want the Falcons beating the Saints to decide the thing.

I think TV commentators are the most overrated thing in college football and am increasingly distraught that we do not have a stadium-sounds-only option when watching.

The team Jones is the President of is the only NFC squad not to have made an NFC title game this century.

So I appreciate his contribution to debunking the notion that wealth is correlated with competence.

I wonder if I’ve become Orwellian, bc I see being recorded in most public settings as a safety net. I’m good with there being a record of where I was and when.

Most β€œbroken,” struggling people don’t become fascists. Fascism doesn’t provide a better life for most people who fit that description. The fact that anyone may be struggling to achieve a β€œreasonably satisfying life” cannot be an implicit attack on their values or politics. That is lazy.

We need a stadium sounds only option for all sports broadcasts. There’s almost no meritocracy in broadcasting, because if you want to watch the game, you’re stuck listening to whomever they throw in the booth.

Right. 1969-2024 counts as part of that metric.

08.12.2025 04:37 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

1969 was 56 years ago. For comparison’s sake, that was eleven years before Mississippi State refused an offer to Jerry Rice.

Pretending like pre-1969 is representative of Notre Dame’s status quo approach to Bowl Games in 2025 is silly.

08.12.2025 03:57 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe, but maybe Notre Dame isn’t classy or dignified enough to deserve the Pop-Tarts Bowl experience.

You’re the one who made the β€œevery other sport” argument. You brought other sports into this discussion and now you’re objecting to the comparison.

There were so many rivalry games that proved this point last week. Eg: 4-7 Wisconsin at 6-5 Minnesota in an ugly game in the snow was kind of awesome.

08.12.2025 03:41 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

β€œLike every other sport.”

Notre Dame’s basketball team accepted an NIT bid as recently as 2018.

No thread of your argument holds up, even by your own made-up standards.

08.12.2025 03:27 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That has not been Notre Dame’s position, historically. Are you calling for the abolition of all Bowl games other than the CFP or are you refusing to acknowledge you’re engaging in special pleading for Notre Dame?

Was a title not the goal before expansion?

08.12.2025 03:09 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah? Then why didn’t they decline the Sun Bowl in 2023 on that logic? Or the Gator Bowl in 2022?

Haven’t won a title since β€˜88 and act like a title is status quo.
